Maricopa is located at 33°3′24″N 112°2′48″W (33.056702, -112.046656). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 31.9 square miles (83 km²), all of it land. The topography in Maricopa is flat with several mountain ranges 10 to 20 miles away. The elevation of Maricopa is 1190 feet.
Demographics
As of the census of 2010, there were 43,482 people, 14,359 households, and 11,110 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,356.8 people per square mile (526.4/km²). There were 17,240 housing units at an average density of 540.4 per square mile (208.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 70.2% White, 9.7% Black or African American, 2.0% Native American, 4.1% Asian, 0.3% Pacific Islander, 8.5% from other races, and 5.3% from two or more races. 24.4% of the population is Hispanic or Latino of any race.
